Une liste chronologiques de mondes de fantasy "mythopoétique"


Je n'inclus pas la fantasy en général (par exemple James Branch Cabell) et seulement la fantasy "mythopoétique" qui crée un cycle mythologique et un univers fictif.

1891 William Morris, The Story of the Glittering Plain : Hallblithe de la Maison du Corbeau vient sauver sa fiancée et arrive dans la Plaine Scintillante, terre d'immortalité.

1894 William Morris, The Wood Beyond the World : Walter le Doré fuit sa fiancée infidèle, libère une femme du château d'un enchanteur et parvient dans un pays de Géants puis dans une cité qui en fait leur roi.

1895 William Morris, Child Christopher and Goldilind the Fair : le prince Christopher, qui ignore son identité doit lutter contre l'usurpateur (dont un agent s'appelle Gandolf) et il tombe amoureux de la belle Goldilind d'Oakenrealm.

1896 William Morris, The Well at the World's End : Ralph of Upmeads part en quête du Puits au Bout du Monde qui accorde l'immortalité.

1897 William Morris, The Water of the Wondrous Isles : Jeune fille enlevée et élevée par une sorcière des bois d'Evilshaw, Birdalone traverse des îles mystérieuses, croisant princesses et paladins.
William Morris, The Sundering Flood : Osberne Wulfgrimsson vit séparé de celle qu'il aime, Elfhild de l'autre côté d'une Fleuve infranchissable. Il part la retrouver et va vivre des aventures, renversant même un roi et retrouvant enfin sa dulcinée dans une forêt sauvage.
