One of the things I like about magic in Jorune is the concept of the personal "orb" (called a "naull"). Each Magic-User had to shape a colored sphere before casting a spell and each orb was individual, a kind of "signature". The colors even changed with the mood of the Magic-User. This was a fascinating visual detail. I always imagine Special Effects of lights when a character casts a spell. Comic-books like Doctor Strange, Doctor Fate or Arion used a similar idea :
